Our Story

Markela, owner of Polewave studio, started pole dancing as a hobby the autumn of 2008 after taking her degree in Law from University of Athens. Although she had no athletic or dance background she was quickly given the chance to teach, being an advanced pole student in the early life of pole industry in Greece. She trained with enthusiasm under the guidance of her teacher and started working on more advanced tricks watching American pole dancer Karol Helms's videos on Youtube.

In early 2011 she created ''Polewave'' dedicated to pole dancing, flexibility and yoga classes. Since then the main focus of Polewave studio is to offer a safe, fun and cozy environment to people who want to learn the fascinating art of pole dancing. Complete workout programmes through cross training are offered, which in long terms keep students strong and healthy.

Contemporary dance elements are incorporated in the programme and special workshops for strengthening or contortion are held often.

Professional poles made of stainless steel and chrome are used with various diameters (42 mm, 45 mm, 50 mm) in both static and spinning mode.

Polewave is located in Athens downtown, accessible by both Metro (blue line Syntagma and Monasthraki stations, red line Panepisthmio station) and Electric railway( Monasthraki station) .
